Sleep is important for athletes.
Rise Science was founded a decade ago by Jeff Kahn and Leon Sasson during their research on sleep science at Northwestern University.
In 2011, their research caught the attention of sports organizations looking to enhance athlete performance. They transitioned from academia to collaborating with teams like the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys.
Through their technology, 97% of players reported an extra hour of sleep per night, resulting in a 70% decrease in injury rates and 8% faster reaction times.
“I would get phone calls from Bill Belichik to talk about how the team’s trends were for the week,” Kahn said.
Sleep Number, an NFL corporate sponsor since 2018, has 80% of NFL players using Sleep Number mattresses.
Today, 75% of us dream in color. Before color television, just 15% of us did.
