Michael Vick spent 21 months in prison and came back a vastly improved passer. When Vick played his first NFL season in 4 years, he posted a 100.2 passer rating after his previous career high was only 81.6.

It helps Vick was a freak athlete. In his book, he talks about how he didn’t train for the combine because he was lazy and just ate fast food all day. He got shamed into running the 40 at the last minute and ran it in 4.26.
Speaking of freak athletes, in January of 1967, 34-year-old Packers wide receiver, Max McGee, had caught only four passes in the regular season and was fast bearing down on retirement.
He decided to break curfew and spend the night with two flight attendants that he had met in the team’s hotel bar.
He snuck out after assistant coach Hawg Hanner’s 11 p.m. bed check. At 6:30 am, he got back to the hotel and called his teammate, Paul Hornug.
“He called from the lobby and asked if they did a second check. I said 'No, you lucky bastard, now get your ass up here.’”
He wasn’t planning to get off the bench in the game against the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs.
McGee backed up Boyd Dowler, who injured his right shoulder on the third snap of the game. When McGee had to go in, he couldn’t even find his helmet. He put on a giant lineman’s helmet with a full cage and on his first snap missed connecting with Starr on a curl route.
McGee went on to catch seven passes for a total of 138 yards and scored two touchdowns during the game.
